Maldives One and Only - The name gives it a way. There is no other place like this! Truly incredible, it is One Of A Kind. We were only here for a few days and looking back, we wish we had stayed a few more days. Talk about perfection! Perfect in every way.
Upon arrival we were greeted with the customary cold towel and drink but then whisked away by our own butler in our own private golf cart. The golf cart, ours for the whole stay (comes with the grand water villa); the butler, always just a phone call away.
Drink in hand we got settled in with a relaxing foot massage under the beautiful Maldivian sun. After the foot massage we were asked, "would you like me to unpack for you" (As much as I wanted to say yes, I just couldn't so I passed) We knew we were going to love this place, never did we think we would love it as much as we did.
The first day we never even left our room. With a beautiful deck that wrapped around the villa and a huge private plunge pool who needed the island? Dinner was served a la' carte', one course at a time, on our deck under a full moon.
The next morning we reluctantly left the paradise of our villa, hopped in our golf cart and headed down to breakfast. The "good mornings" and "hellos" from the staff were never-ending. From groundskeeper to waiter to manager, it was evident, making you feel welcome was their number one job.
After a quick tour of the island scoping out the pool and restaurants we headed back to another day of lazing at our villa. Can one ever get too much peace and solitude?
Diner that evening was at their sushi restaurant and let me tell you, talk about delectable sushi, this was as good as any that I've had in New York, Paris, San Francisco, anywhere.
A few more days of lounging at our villa or at the pool and sadly our time to leave was upon us. Had we known what we were in store for next at Huvafen Fushi we would have done anything to stay put.
If you are headed to the Maldives, and you like 5 star service and luxury accommodations, this place is a must The attention to detail is like I've never seen, nothing was overlooked. If I were to do it again, I'd stay here for three or four nights and then head over to Hilton Rangali for the remainder of my time. Both resorts are Fantastic. |
